Seasons and Still Life

SEASONS: I was inspired to create this series of watercolor country art in four seasons from my trips to the countryside over the years where I have recorded my experiences with sketches and watercolor paintings in my art journal. I have always been captivated by the simple country watercolor art of artists from the 18th and 19th centuries. They were able to capture nature using both with pen and watercolor so expertly. This collection is in honor of those bygone artists and their watercolor paintings depicting the magic of the seasons and the delicate hues of winter, spring, summer and fall.

STILL LIFE: My inspiration with this pair of still life with window paintings was to convey exactly what the name "still life" suggests. It is a moment of life captured in a setting that tells a story which one can add to and ponder on. Wide window ledges, often found in older homes, serve perfectly for these still life watercolors.
