Standing tall with downtown Detroit as its backdrop, the subject of this Detroit urban landscape painting was formerly the picture of elegance. Located in Brush Park Detroit, where Detroit city’s mansions were erected in the late 1800’s, together with the gnarled tree beside it, it has stood the test of time, weathered the seasons and unlike many of it's neighbors, has somehow escaped attempts to pull it down. I applaud the current city plan to to save this building and fully restore it as well as the other lonely architectural survivors of the Brush Park area.
