In this watercolor street scene painting I capture another beautiful South Pasadena historic landmark building as well as it's equally famous Library Tree. The library was built in 1924 while the massive Moreton Bay Fig Tree was planted just a few years after and there are plans to make the tree a local city landmark. I spotted these children reading and playing in the tree's intricate root system and couldn't help but think of the thousands of children and adults who have enjoyed it's welcoming shade and shelter throughout the decades. This original painting now hangs inside the Library for all to enjoy.
