My visits to the US Capitol building in DC over the years, inspired this new painting. It is one of the most symbolic buildings in the nation, and has been the meeting place of the House of Representatives and the Senate for two centuries. To me, it's neoclassical design evokes the ideals that guided the Founding Fathers as they developed a new republic. It seemed only fitting to include The Constitution of the United States of America within this piece. President George Washington laid the cornerstone of this stately building in 1793, five years after signing The Constitution of the United States of America.
