This famous row of historic Victorians on Steiner St, across from Alamo Square in San Francisco, stands in testament to the resilience of San Francisco residents to rise from the ashes after the devastating 1906 earthquake and fires. Built between 1892 and 1896, remarkably, these "Seven Sisters of San Francisco" as they often called, survived the quake and fires which destroyed 500 city blocks and killed 3,000 people. My goal with this piece is to show the intricate detail of the homes in contrast to the modern sprawl of downtown San Francisco today.
